Wannabe

Ah Ger has always wanted to keep long hair.... just like Mummy she said. But her grandmother always wants her to cut her hair short because its much easier to manage. During our trip to Hongkong in 2010, she spotted a fake long hair and insisted us to buy it for her.

She looked shy in this photo, but actually, she was so proud of her hair..... but it was causing her neck to itch... Hehe...

Will be posting my Project Life Week 3 soon. Need to take photos of them first...  Thanks for dropping by...

Project Life Week Two

Completed Week 2 Project Life a few days ago but either the sky was too gloomy or it had been quite a hectic schedule. Had no time to blog it..... so here it goes...

Here's the left side of my Week Two. Since I underestimate the amount of photos that I would be using, I opt to journal those events instead. There were many stories to tell of the daily simple things.... erasers from school teacher, new bicycle, their eagerness to help Mummy cook.. etc.

On the left side, my view on current education standard, Regine's mock spelling test, my first sale for 2012, 'love brand' breakfast and them.. playing dressing up...

Whenever I show my hubby the completed week.... he has nothing but praises for it. Not only for the documentation but also Project Life system as it allows me to tell more stories in such a short time span. He even help me out by taking photos of those tiny details in our life and offer suggestions on what to include in the layouts....

Honestly, for those who are interested in documenting their life journey through scrapbooking but find it too overwhelming, try Project Life.

Thanks for dropping by!!

P.S. Ever since I started Project Life, I had managed to NOT spend/splurge on scrapbook stuff. I mainly used whatever stash I had.

Thankful For

There are so many things in life that I am thankful for.

Thankful for having a roof over our head.
Thankful for having enough to eat and drink.
Thankful for having a stable "platinum" ricebowl job.
Thankful for having an perfectly imperfect man.
Thankful for having a small but great group of friends.
Thankful for so many small things in life in which we normally take for granted....

Lastly but not least.... thankful for being blessed with 2 healthy kiddos...
They DO drive me nuts sometimes (actually.. most of the times with their little demands... such as choices of bag they wanted to carry, which water bottles they wanted to brings, which shoes, which toys to bring for shower, which dresses they wanted to wear.....). But I do love them so MUCH.....

We are celebrating Lunar New Year tomorrow in Singapore.... for all my Chinese friends. Happy Lunar New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

Project Life Week One

Here's my Project Life Week One:

In the beginning, I was worried that it might be too simply.. too little embellishments, colour clashing... then I had to keep reminding myself.... the main purpose for me to start Project Life is to DOCUMENT our life. It doesn't matter whether it's too plain or the colour is all 'wrong'. What really matters are the stories that I wanted to tell my family... my children.

I have to learn to let go.... and stop being so paranoid/perfectionist....

My process is:

To take at least a photo a day, may it be an event, or favorite things... anything... that have a story in it. I will load up the photos into my laptop, daily if possible and organised it in dated folder. Delete duplicated photos or those that I would not use at all and I will leave the editing just before I printed out the paper.

I will draw a rough sketch of my next page protector design (2 page layout) into my journal. Midweek, I will start planning my photos and journaling placement (this only takes about less than 10mins while I am travelling to work). I felt that planning the photos and journaling placement in advance actually helps a lot when finalizing everything else since I tried as much as I could to journal/jot down my thoughts almost immediately.

During the rest of my spare 'me time' I planned my other 12 x 12 layouts, cut out my patterned paper into journaling spots, etc. In the end, even though I have less time to scrap 12 x 12 layouts.... I felt that I had documented more in the past 1 week than I  ever had.... it's so satisfying!! Holding a full time job with 2 small children, no domestic helper, loads of household chores and still being able to enjoy this therapeutic passion of mine while documenting our history... is unbelievable........

Here's on the right page is our trip to the zoo... I summarized the jest of the whole trip into 1 journaling spot.

On the left page, top left: I dated it, stamped and embossed with my favorite quotes/sayings... planning to do that every week.... Hehe..

The rest are photos of our day to day life with a small stories to tell......

There you go..... my first step into Project Life... looking forward to more!! Thanks for dropping by!!

October Afternoon Santa Sack

Every month I would wait patiently (sometimes, impatiently) for the postman to come and bring me my monthly dose of brown box.

Unexpectedly, my OA Santa Sack #5 is here before my monthly kit... which was ordered much much earlier....

Anyway, this is what I had received.....

This is nothing... compare to the actual products.... colour was so much more vibrant! I love love OA... even if it contain some old collections.

In Singapore, it sell out too fast to even reserve them...

I saw in YouTube, previous Santa Sack contained lots of Rub-ons but I guess for #5, they packed in the label and word stickers... which I love so much!!

These are the diecuts.... and stickers.

Received 25 pieces of patterned paper....

Ok.... Thanks for looking will be posting my Project Life Week 1 soon.... if I manage to find time to take a pic of them.....

Sketchabilities Sketch #62

Using Sketchabilities Sketch  #62,

This was taken during Ah Ger's school graduation ceremony. All the kids, even in the nursery 1 class (as young as 3 years old) took part in the performance. When it was Ah Ger's turn, even though it was less than 5 mins, couldn't help it.... my heart soared with pride. She practically remembered every single steps and did not need any prompting from her teachers.

Using Maya Road Kraft envelope, I create a small pocket behind the main photo and slipped in some memorabilia from the event...

Here's a pic of how I hid it from plain sight...

And here's the pic of the memorabilia I kept. 1 of it had her name and title of her performance ( is it call a gig?) and the other, was the theme song of the whole event.

I have yet to show her this completed layout. I'm sure she will be so pleased and proud of it!

Thanks for dropping by!

Project Life title page and 1st layout for 2012

Hello!! Today, I would like to share my Project Life title page. As mentioned in my previous post, (I think... hehe) I bought 2 Project Life kits out of fear that it might run out of stock (called it kiasu..). 1 is the Amber Edition and the other is Clementine Edition. I've decided to use the Amber Edition first since it's the older collection.

 Here's a look...

I have use some of my own stash which I had planned to do so for the whole album instead of just the Core Kit. I left the "Time period" on one of the journal card blank just in case I need to start another album due to space constraint.
After this photo was taken, I did add some other flat embellishments but to the minimal as I would like to keep it simple and clean.

Next thing I would like to share is my first layout for 2012.

My 2012 resolutions.....

Did this layout in about 2hrs (world record for me) as I would like to complete it before the start of new year. This layout will be hung in the study room to serve as a reminder to commit myself to the resolutions that I had set for myself.

Happy 2012!!

Happy New Year everyone! 2011 flew by so quickly especially for the month of December. Been busy juggling between making handmade Christmas gifts for friends, relatives,  colleagues and patients (even though I started as early as mid-October), fulfilling customised orders and the normal routines of household chores, spending time with the kids and work work work....

These are just a a tiny fraction of what I had made for Christmas, personalised altered frame and photo tags....

Managed to create a dent in my stash supplies BUT it's still not big a dent.. sigh... Been hoarding and buying too much scrapbook supplies and I can't seem to keep up with it. That's why one of my 2012 resolutions is to spend within the budget ( for scrapbooking supplies only). *Must resist the temptation*

My last biggest splurge for 2011 was this.....

I have decided to do Project Life this year. Ever since I found out about Project Life from some scrapbooking bloggers, I've been wanting to capture and preserve memories of our everyday life. Even though, I AM doing it by creating layouts and albums. I still felt that there are so many more things/events that I have yet to document. There are so MANY photos that I wanted to use and document... but honestly, I doubt I can even catch up (I have yet to create album for my Japan trip in 2009!!!).

So, when I found out that Project Life is gonna be distributed in Singapore (previously only available in USA, Canada.. or some other countries and the shipping charges are outrageous!!), wihout a second thought.. I pre-ordered 2 kits and some other essentials stuff.. Hopefully, I can really simplify and document more memories...

Thank you for stopping by......
