Creatively Yours Sketches #22-12

It's been a long time since I last updated this blog of mine. What else can I say except ...... more urgent things which required my immediate attention and time.... thus, updating this blog became my least priority.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the "tour of my scrap space" and thank you for the kind comments!
My apology for sharing this a little too late.... anyway here's my take for Creatively Yours Sketches #22-12.

The graduation ceremony for the Kindergarten 2 kids.
The girls enjoyed themselves so much rehearsing for the concert.

Lastly... Happy Nurses' Day to all!!

Hello~~~ . How was your weekend? Was it great?

Here's an awesome sketch by Sketches: Creatively Yours to boost your scrapping mojo!!

Here's my layout:

Whenever I said "Say cheese!!" She will do this"C" hand gesture. Maybe she interpreted it as C for cheese??

I honestly can't remember which company made that polaroid frame but it was part of my Studio Calico kit and had been in my stash far too long.... Heheh... it's time for it to see some daylight. Hope my layout had inspired you to join in the sketch here.

Happy scrapping people!!

Project Life Week 15 & 16

Back again with Project Life Week 15 & 16.

For this 2 weeks, I didn't managed to take that many photos as work gets too overwhelming. But, who says that it has to be a 2-page spreader per week. Most important is the memories that we hold on to..... no matter how mundane it may seem.

Here's Week 15:

Meimei had an eye infection again. Not too sure what's causing it. Probably due to her constant rubbing of her eyes with dirty hands. Their daddy helping them to put together Spongebob Lego car..... Hehe.....

And here's Week 16:

A day at the beach again. Endless fun at the beach... without having to spend so much money.

Project Life have truly enhanced the way I scrap and document our daily lives. I used to be so stressed up when I scrap because there are so many photos and memories that I wanted to document but I don't have enough time to do it all (I used to be so obsessed with whether the layout looked "complete"). With Project Life, I only scrap photos that I truly love or when I just feel like scrapping a layout. Best of all.... I'm using my stash (so that I can buy more guiltlessly)!!!

Anyway, thanks for dropping by!!

To have a Child.........

Sketches are great when you feel like creating but do not have enough time or mojo. It helps to kickstart things.....

Like this one.........

I used the sketch to create this:

It's fast, simple and give immense satisfaction when I used my stash instead of hoarding them. The hardest part of  scrapbooking for me is ........ cracking my head for a title. That's when I will either use quotes, song titles or browse through other scrappers' blogs for inspiration. For example, in this layout, I used part of a quotation as a title.

Journaling:

"To have a child is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body" - Unknown

Here's a close-up of the layout.

Thanks for dropping by~~

Creatively Yours Sketch #17-12

Hello.... June..

It seems not too long ago that I was looking forward to May. Looking forward to our long awaited family vacation to Disneyland. That time passed by too soon... and it's mid-year already...
Been wanting to blog but I was really drowsy from the painkillers...

Sharing with you Creatively Yours Sketch #17-12:

Here's my take:

When I saw this sketch. I knew that I just had to scrap these old photos that I had dug out.
Meimei was sitting on a pram meant for a doll and she was busy disturbing her big sister. Photos are not that clear but I love to see them both together. Please join us here and see what others had done with this great sketch!

Here's a close up pic:

To save some time, instead of stitching around the patterned papers. I created faux stitches by poking holes and joining them with pen instead.....

Lastly, just wanted to share a tag that I had designed to give to the patients and their mothers for Mother's Day! Inexpensive but a thoughtful gift....

Last but not least... do remember to pop by here.... and join in the sketch!!!

Creatively Yours Sketch #14-12

Hello! Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!
It's a very cooling Sunday in Singapore now. I'm still trying to figure out how to schedule the post. Apparently, my previous scheduled post did not work.

Anyway, here's a sketch from Creatively Yours Sketch to inspire you to scrap this weekend.

Here's my take:

Tired of having so many left over alphas lying around... turning yellow, I decided to use them as mask (inspired by some scrappers) ... and threw them away after that... Hehe.... At least, I wouldn't feel so bad throwing them out.

Journaling:

As long as we continue to think
we will be happy in the future
We will never be happy in the moment
and that is the same as saying
we will never be happy.
If we think our lives will be better
when we get that better job or retire
stay or go
lose or gain weight
or when our children grow or leave or come back
we are putting off the happiness
that there is in today.

The "Princess" chipboard accent is about..... 5 years old? I know.... I know... I hoard to much!! Added little stitches at the bottom... Ok... sorry.. my little girl calling me to eat dinner... bye!!

Creatively Yours Sketch #12-12

Hello... a little occupied over the week so I had no time to post the latest sketch by Creatively Yours Sketch... so here it is!! Please do drop by and join in the fun!!

And here's my take.

Originally I didn't wanna put the chipboard pieces as banners... but I felt that it was too plain... and I really wanna use more embellishments. I love it anyway.

Girls will always be girls.... They love to pretend that the bathing towels is their long hair and they will dance away pretending that they are princesses.....

Hope your remaining week will be a great one!!!

Creatively Yours Sketch #11-12

Happy Easter Day to all!

Would like to share an LO that I did using Creatively Yours Sketch #11-12.

I believe this photo was taken when Ah Ger was 2yrs++. She looked so much like her cousin (Honestly speaking, even their temperament....their fussiness).

Photo was on my magnetic board for goodness know how long.... at last, I managed to scrap it.

The border was hand stitched to add more texture. Keeping it simple this time.

Anyway, thanks for dropping by!!

Remember to join in the sketch here!!

Project Life Week 4

Here's Project Life Week 4. Sorry for the poor pic quality. Hubby needs to "borrow" the camera from me. Photos were taken at night in my scrap room. Week 4 consists of all random stuff going about in our life.

Take note that it is not in chronological order. The photo sleeves determine which photos or journal notes that I will put in.

Girls were busy playing with Angry Birds at their Aunt's house.

Here's the left side: Top right pic is a small note from Ah Ger's schoolmate's mummy (Their school uniform got mixed up). Bottom right: A drawing of Mummy by Meimei.

Here's the right page. Journaled down their homeworks, my favorite place to eat....etc.

Botton left: Journaled down funny things they said. Bottom right: Meimei's tantrum....

Week 4, and I'm still loving Project Life. Despite being set back while I took a 4 days short trip to Hongkong last weekend, I still managed to finish my Week 6 yesterday. Yes, it leaves me little time for LOs but I still feel that I had accomplished much more doing Project Life.

Thanks for dropping by!!

Beautiful Ballerina

The girls started attending ballet class last year at Ballet & Music Company. It all started with Ah Ger dancing to every songs she heard while watching Barbie's cartoon show. She will imitate them (especially the "Twelve Dancing Princesses") dancing and swaying around. She even got her "Nenek" to buy ballerina clothing. Meimei as usual... will want whatever her big sister wants. Thus, both of them were sign up for it.

Here they are posing around as usual while waiting for their "Datuk" to come and fetch them.

Thats all for not.... thanks for dropping by!!

Wannabe

Ah Ger has always wanted to keep long hair.... just like Mummy she said. But her grandmother always wants her to cut her hair short because its much easier to manage. During our trip to Hongkong in 2010, she spotted a fake long hair and insisted us to buy it for her.

She looked shy in this photo, but actually, she was so proud of her hair..... but it was causing her neck to itch... Hehe...

Will be posting my Project Life Week 3 soon. Need to take photos of them first...  Thanks for dropping by...

Project Life Week Two

Completed Week 2 Project Life a few days ago but either the sky was too gloomy or it had been quite a hectic schedule. Had no time to blog it..... so here it goes...

Here's the left side of my Week Two. Since I underestimate the amount of photos that I would be using, I opt to journal those events instead. There were many stories to tell of the daily simple things.... erasers from school teacher, new bicycle, their eagerness to help Mummy cook.. etc.

On the left side, my view on current education standard, Regine's mock spelling test, my first sale for 2012, 'love brand' breakfast and them.. playing dressing up...

Whenever I show my hubby the completed week.... he has nothing but praises for it. Not only for the documentation but also Project Life system as it allows me to tell more stories in such a short time span. He even help me out by taking photos of those tiny details in our life and offer suggestions on what to include in the layouts....

Honestly, for those who are interested in documenting their life journey through scrapbooking but find it too overwhelming, try Project Life.

Thanks for dropping by!!

P.S. Ever since I started Project Life, I had managed to NOT spend/splurge on scrapbook stuff. I mainly used whatever stash I had.

Thankful For

There are so many things in life that I am thankful for.

Thankful for having a roof over our head.
Thankful for having enough to eat and drink.
Thankful for having a stable "platinum" ricebowl job.
Thankful for having an perfectly imperfect man.
Thankful for having a small but great group of friends.
Thankful for so many small things in life in which we normally take for granted....

Lastly but not least.... thankful for being blessed with 2 healthy kiddos...
They DO drive me nuts sometimes (actually.. most of the times with their little demands... such as choices of bag they wanted to carry, which water bottles they wanted to brings, which shoes, which toys to bring for shower, which dresses they wanted to wear.....). But I do love them so MUCH.....

We are celebrating Lunar New Year tomorrow in Singapore.... for all my Chinese friends. Happy Lunar New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

Sketchabilities Sketch #62

Using Sketchabilities Sketch  #62,

This was taken during Ah Ger's school graduation ceremony. All the kids, even in the nursery 1 class (as young as 3 years old) took part in the performance. When it was Ah Ger's turn, even though it was less than 5 mins, couldn't help it.... my heart soared with pride. She practically remembered every single steps and did not need any prompting from her teachers.

Using Maya Road Kraft envelope, I create a small pocket behind the main photo and slipped in some memorabilia from the event...

Here's a pic of how I hid it from plain sight...

And here's the pic of the memorabilia I kept. 1 of it had her name and title of her performance ( is it call a gig?) and the other, was the theme song of the whole event.

I have yet to show her this completed layout. I'm sure she will be so pleased and proud of it!

Thanks for dropping by!
