Project Life Week 19

Today is Singapore's 47th birthday... Happy Birthday Singapore!!

This was what I had been busy with for the past weeks......

What have I been doing all day? Catching up on my rest and sleep (was coming down with flu) and spending time with my family.... :).

And now.. while putting the girls to sleep, I thought I might just pop by to say hello and share my Project Life Week 19....

Celebrated Mother's Day with a cake.... the girls were singing "Happy Birthday to Mother's Day??!!". Bought a Mother's Day gift for myself..... a Silhouette Cameo..... which finally arrived in Singapore.
And Mother's Day gift tags for the patients and their caregivers....

In that fateful week.... the leg pain caused by the herniated disc started and it worsened over time. And lastly.... drawings done by the girls at my SIL's house.

Project Life Week 18

Celebrated Meimei's birthday in her school yesterday and brought her out for "Kaikai" today. Wanted to share the pics we took but my laptop does not have photo editing software..... =)

It's been quite sometime since I last shared my Project Life. I'm currently onto my Week 27 ( only 3 weeks behind... Yipee!!!) which to me, was quite an achievement, as I was really occupied with other stuff for the past 3 weeks.

Anyway, here goes...... Week 18.

I won a Sizzix embossing machine from my LSS on NSD (at last!!) but I already had a Big Shot =(. To date, the machine is still in my store room unopened. Don't know what to do with it. Included movie tickets to "Avengers".

Drawing by Ah Ger. Noticed the "sad face" that she drew for Meimei? Hahaha.... that's because Meimei had been very cranky for the past few days and she threw tantrums when we "ignored" her.

"Love Life" diecut is from my Silhouette Cameo. Documenting the cost of a single ink catridge for my new printer.... OMG... super ex!! Oh ya... my badly decayed wisdom tooth which I showed Meimei to remind her to brush her teeth properly.

Project Life Week 17

June is ending soon.... half a year had passed by so fast!!....

Here's my Project Life Week 14.

The girls helping me out with the Mother's Day gifts for the patients. They painted the petals with Tattered Angel Glimmer Glam. They were so good with it and made minimal mess. The best thing was.... they enjoyed helping me so much!

Origame homework, farewell gift for the teacher, work-related stuff and once again..... Meimei fell sick.....

Project Life Week 15 & 16

Back again with Project Life Week 15 & 16.

For this 2 weeks, I didn't managed to take that many photos as work gets too overwhelming. But, who says that it has to be a 2-page spreader per week. Most important is the memories that we hold on to..... no matter how mundane it may seem.

Here's Week 15:

Meimei had an eye infection again. Not too sure what's causing it. Probably due to her constant rubbing of her eyes with dirty hands. Their daddy helping them to put together Spongebob Lego car..... Hehe.....

And here's Week 16:

A day at the beach again. Endless fun at the beach... without having to spend so much money.

Project Life have truly enhanced the way I scrap and document our daily lives. I used to be so stressed up when I scrap because there are so many photos and memories that I wanted to document but I don't have enough time to do it all (I used to be so obsessed with whether the layout looked "complete"). With Project Life, I only scrap photos that I truly love or when I just feel like scrapping a layout. Best of all.... I'm using my stash (so that I can buy more guiltlessly)!!!

Oh yes... I still love documenting my/our daily life. Even though it may seem mundane.... to me...... everyday is a special day....

My girls.... painting my toes..... Just for the fun of it (Thank god.... I don't wear open toe-shoes to work...... Hehehe.... ). 
They are still afraid of thunder.

Thankful For

There are so many things in life that I am thankful for.

Thankful for having a roof over our head.
Thankful for having enough to eat and drink.
Thankful for having a stable "platinum" ricebowl job.
Thankful for having an perfectly imperfect man.
Thankful for having a small but great group of friends.
Thankful for so many small things in life in which we normally take for granted....


Lastly but not least.... thankful for being blessed with 2 healthy kiddos...

They DO drive me nuts sometimes (actually.. most of the times with their little demands... such as choices of bag they wanted to carry, which water bottles they wanted to brings, which shoes, which toys to bring for shower, which dresses they wanted to wear.....). But I do love them so MUCH.....

We are celebrating Lunar New Year tomorrow in Singapore.... for all my Chinese friends. Happy Lunar New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

Project Life Week One

Here's my Project Life Week One:

In the beginning, I was worried that it might be too simply.. too little embellishments, colour clashing... then I had to keep reminding myself.... the main purpose for me to start Project Life is to DOCUMENT our life. It doesn't matter whether it's too plain or the colour is all 'wrong'. What really matters are the stories that I wanted to tell my family... my children.

I have to learn to let go.... and stop being so paranoid/perfectionist....

My process is:

To take at least a photo a day, may it be an event, or favorite things... anything... that have a story in it. I will load up the photos into my laptop, daily if possible and organised it in dated folder. Delete duplicated photos or those that I would not use at all and I will leave the editing just before I printed out the paper.

I will draw a rough sketch of my next page protector design (2 page layout) into my journal. Midweek, I will start planning my photos and journaling placement (this only takes about less than 10mins while I am travelling to work). I felt that planning the photos and journaling placement in advance actually helps a lot when finalizing everything else since I tried as much as I could to journal/jot down my thoughts almost immediately.

During the rest of my spare 'me time' I planned my other 12 x 12 layouts, cut out my patterned paper into journaling spots, etc. In the end, even though I have less time to scrap 12 x 12 layouts.... I felt that I had documented more in the past 1 week than I  ever had.... it's so satisfying!! Holding a full time job with 2 small children, no domestic helper, loads of household chores and still being able to enjoy this therapeutic passion of mine while documenting our history... is unbelievable........

Here's on the right page is our trip to the zoo... I summarized the jest of the whole trip into 1 journaling spot.

On the left page, top left: I dated it, stamped and embossed with my favorite quotes/sayings... planning to do that every week.... Hehe..

The rest are photos of our day to day life with a small stories to tell......

Long Overdue Updates.....

It's been what... 2 months since I last blogged??

Ever since I'm back from our family vacation in Australia, my life have been in a whirlwind. Catching up with overdue household chores, cleaning up my neverending messy scrap space, cleaning up after my kids, work..... deadline on scrap projects, other tiny but important tasks in my life.. and that's my life cycle... Heh...

Plenty of photos to share.. just too little time to upload them.... plus... Blogger is giving me some problems.... too tedious to update nowadays.

View from our apartment

We stayed at the Towers of Chevron Renaissance, Gold Coast. We decided to stay at Gold Coast as it might be too tiring for the kids to travel here and there... and staying at an apartment is much much better than the hotel. We can do our laundry and even cook!

Pencil Lines Sketch #246

Using Pencil Lines Sketch #246,

Here's my take,

I splattered some Maya Mist onto the background (don't really like clean background nowadays). Took a while for me to think of the title because I had too many missing alphas from my old collection of AC Thickers. In the end, I cut off the "f" to replace "r" and "m" to replace "u" in the yellow ones, use 5 to replace "s" in black one and cut off "k" to make a "h" too. Felt so satisfied to use them up!

Journaling:

Meimei don't like to brush her teeth.

Whenever it's time to brush her teeth,

we have to wrap her with the towel

(with her arms in it),

and force her to open her mouth.

Isn't the tiny wooden spools for Maya Rd cute?! Love using them so much! And I used plenty of tiny buttons to fill up the frame chipboard.

Once Upon A Sketch.. June 1st Challenge

Here's 1st June sketch...

And here's my take...

She look so adorable and feminine with her fake long hair and the little handbag ( I wonder why my Mum loves to cut her hair till so short).

Journaling wrote:

U love to repeat what Mummy says

U love to eat and willing to try new food.

U still pefer to be carried around when we go "kai kai" (shopping).

U can fall asleep on your own easily.

U don't like being ignored (the usual punishment we give you when you get too naughty)."

We tried to talk sense into you... but you refused to listen..

We threaten you with a cane... you simply turn hysterical..

We scolded you..... again you simply REFUSED .... to listen...

When Mummy started walking away.... that's when I will get your attention.

I used mainly patterned paper from Webster's Pages. Ribbons are from an etsy shop and the tiny rosebuds are from my own collection.

I added some ribbon trimming under my photo for some added texture. "You make me Smile" stamp is from Technique Tuesday .... been wanting these stamps for ages... finally ordered tem online since it's so difficult to get them in Singapore.

I painted the background for my journaling spot with Ranger Distress Crackled Paint just for some texture too. Flowers and pearl swirl are from Prima Marketing.

A time well spent

Just got back from a shopping frenzy in Hongkong (it's a 3 days 2 nights trip) last Monday. I fell sick (viral fever) on the very first day till the 2nd day. I was constantly popping paracetamol to keep the fever away. I still managed to achieved my objectives for this trip (thanks to my dear sister) and bought my Hello Kitty suitcase and plenty of clothes for my princesses.

On the positive side, the hotel that we stayed in are full so we were upgraded to a suite.... really cool but a little troublesome when you need to go to the toilet.


I didn't bring the girls along since it's a short getaway for me to relax... Heh... Needless to say, I missed them so much. Both of them had lost quite a bit of weight after a nasty bout of flu and cough.

Spent our Vesak Day playing PlayDoh and then, went to Marina Square just to shop around.

Ah Ger's creation.... Smiley faces of Daddy and Mummy.

Next, a butterly made of PlayDoh and some plastic pebble-like thing....

Not wanting to lose out to Jiejie, Meimei brought out her "Baby" and insisted that I took a picture of it too.
