Mini Crate Paper notebooks

At last... I manage to use my favorite Crate Paper stash which I had been hoarding for so long! As much as I like to keep them.... I need to purge as fast as I can... because... my Studio Calico kits.. 1 year monthly supply is still NOT being use yet! Aren't they cute?! Each notebook is heavily accentuated embellishments and measures approximately 4" x 4".

I inserted 1 page of patterned paper with simple embellishment into each notebooks.

Remember..... the moments

A quick post to share a LO. Photo was taken with someone's iphone.... we were making our way back to the ward when 'someone' (you know who you are) just wanted to take a spontaneous pic.

So... we turn... and smile... heh..

I really like how this LO turned out... I just went on adding bits and pieces from my old stash.. and that's it. Of course, not forgetting my Maya Mist.

Hand drew and hand-stitch the swirl..

The LO don't really have a title.... I just use my favorite quote " We do not remember the days. We remember the moments" - Cesare Pavese , which speaks volume of how I feel around this group of people (of course, among others that are not in the pic.... =).

Ok.... gotta go now.... thanks for looking!!

A Little Help

I'm sure by this time.... you all of heard about what's happening in Japan. The news about the earthquake followed by the tsunami... followed by nuclear plant crisis are ... beyond devastation. Japan is my favorite holiday destination in Asia... I love the people.... the culture.... the cleanliness. I had been there twice and I have planned to go again in September (this shows how much I love it) with my children.

It's simply heartbreaking to see the news daily....

I would like to play a part in helping them by donating all the items on the FOR SALE page together with other projects that I am currently doing. Please check her blog for more details and if you would like to help too. If you prefer to donate money, you can find it here.

Thank you all for your time!

Long awaited break.....

Let me see... when was my last official annual leave slot... july? Which I took to send off my domestic helper, took care of Meimei (Ah Ger went to Korea with my sis) and 'training' my new helper. But things never go as planned. Helper not interested in learning how to take care of my kids. Her interest is making phone calls and going out. Thereafter.... I had to take ad-hoc leave to settle helper stuff, kid stuff, etc. So, there goes all my leave.

Was juggling between work, housework, kids, scrapbooking (to help me maintain my sanity) and getting enough rest so that I won't fall sick.

This LO was done quite sometime back but I was too tired/ occupy to actually post it. Sometimes, ideas (to blog) come to my mind but.... the timing is always wrong.

Anyway.... photos (with my iphone... that's why is quite blur) are taken before their bedtime. They were busy posing for me. One of the rare occasions that they will agree to things TOGETHER in HARMONY.

The frame was from my stash. It was actually white but I misted it with Maya Mist to make it stand out. The heart-shaped 'border' was actually ribbon from my own stash too. Added some cut out motifs here and there...

I used Sizzix die and some leftover felt for the leaves.

Direct stamping onto the LO again.... coloured the flower motif with copic marker and used dimensional glue to give it a shine.

Moment Like This

Entered this layout for Crate Paper February Sketch Challenge and I didn't won it... Hehe... but I'm still happy to finally use the Restoration Collection which I had been hoarding for so long....

This photo was taken during our first trip to Hortpark. We were resting on one of the benches in an open field. It was so light-heartening to see both of them caring for each other despite the daily fighting, kicking and snatching... But of course, they will continue their daily routine after a short while.

I mixed the Restoration collection together with some from the older collections and cut strips of the patterned papers. The doilies are also cut out from the patterned paper and made into embellishments.. isn't it just wonderful? Hehe...

My attempt to get a clearer pic of the layout by placing it on their easel... a little clearer? But slanted... oh well....

Meimei waking up from her afternoon nap.... She will go "I see oni k.... I see only"... ya.. right... see only..

One of the many techniques that I learn from my LSS, MWL. Rolling twine to make a flower center.
I stamped and embossed the image on the cardstock. Stitching the edges to give it more texture.

Cut out the playing cards from the paper collection and curling the edges.

Lastly... can't resist using my latest collection of punch from Fiskars77.... the cloud punch! I was going to embossed the image... but had forgotten all about it...
Ok.... time for some housework.... thanks for dropping by!!
Materials:
Crate Paper: Lilian & Restoration Collection
