Project Life Week 17

June is ending soon.... half a year had passed by so fast!!....

Here's my Project Life Week 14.

The girls helping me out with the Mother's Day gifts for the patients. They painted the petals with Tattered Angel Glimmer Glam. They were so good with it and made minimal mess. The best thing was.... they enjoyed helping me so much!

Origame homework, farewell gift for the teacher, work-related stuff and once again..... Meimei fell sick.....

Love flipping through my Project Life album. It's so full of details......

Bye for now~~~ *Plenty to do... so little time*

To have a Child.........

Sketches are great when you feel like creating but do not have enough time or mojo. It helps to kickstart things.....

Like this one.........

I used the sketch to create this:

It's fast, simple and give immense satisfaction when I used my stash instead of hoarding them. The hardest part of  scrapbooking for me is ........ cracking my head for a title. That's when I will either use quotes, song titles or browse through other scrappers' blogs for inspiration. For example, in this layout, I used part of a quotation as a title.

Journaling:

"To have a child is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body" - Unknown

Here's a close-up of the layout.

Creatively Yours Sketch #14-12

Hello! Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!
It's a very cooling Sunday in Singapore now. I'm still trying to figure out how to schedule the post. Apparently, my previous scheduled post did not work.

Anyway, here's a sketch from Creatively Yours Sketch to inspire you to scrap this weekend.

Here's my take:

Tired of having so many left over alphas lying around... turning yellow, I decided to use them as mask (inspired by some scrappers) ... and threw them away after that... Hehe.... At least, I wouldn't feel so bad throwing them out.

Journaling:

As long as we continue to think
we will be happy in the future
We will never be happy in the moment
and that is the same as saying
we will never be happy.
If we think our lives will be better
when we get that better job or retire
stay or go
lose or gain weight
or when our children grow or leave or come back
we are putting off the happiness
that there is in today.

The "Princess" chipboard accent is about..... 5 years old? I know.... I know... I hoard to much!! Added little stitches at the bottom... Ok... sorry.. my little girl calling me to eat dinner... bye!!

Creatively Yours Sketch #12-12

Hello... a little occupied over the week so I had no time to post the latest sketch by Creatively Yours Sketch... so here it is!! Please do drop by and join in the fun!!

And here's my take.

Originally I didn't wanna put the chipboard pieces as banners... but I felt that it was too plain... and I really wanna use more embellishments. I love it anyway.

Girls will always be girls.... They love to pretend that the bathing towels is their long hair and they will dance away pretending that they are princesses.....

Hope your remaining week will be a great one!!!

Why do I scrapbooking?

A picture says a thousand word.

I'm a full time working mum with 2 young kids. I do not have a domestic helper to help me with my daily household chores but yet I have time to scrapbook?? Well.... because I don't go window shopping, I don't watch television show, my rest and relax time = time spend on scrapbooking.

I love seeing my kids flipping through pages and pages of my layouts... and asking about the photos. I love to include my journaling and favorite quotes onto each layout.

So.... for those who has been asking me why do I scrap? Have time? Oh yes... I do... I MAKE time for it.

Thanks for dropping by!!

Beautiful Ballerina

The girls started attending ballet class last year at Ballet & Music Company. It all started with Ah Ger dancing to every songs she heard while watching Barbie's cartoon show. She will imitate them (especially the "Twelve Dancing Princesses") dancing and swaying around. She even got her "Nenek" to buy ballerina clothing. Meimei as usual... will want whatever her big sister wants. Thus, both of them were sign up for it.

Here they are posing around as usual while waiting for their "Datuk" to come and fetch them.

Thats all for not.... thanks for dropping by!!

Thankful For

There are so many things in life that I am thankful for.

Thankful for having a roof over our head.
Thankful for having enough to eat and drink.
Thankful for having a stable "platinum" ricebowl job.
Thankful for having an perfectly imperfect man.
Thankful for having a small but great group of friends.
Thankful for so many small things in life in which we normally take for granted....

Lastly but not least.... thankful for being blessed with 2 healthy kiddos...
They DO drive me nuts sometimes (actually.. most of the times with their little demands... such as choices of bag they wanted to carry, which water bottles they wanted to brings, which shoes, which toys to bring for shower, which dresses they wanted to wear.....). But I do love them so MUCH.....

We are celebrating Lunar New Year tomorrow in Singapore.... for all my Chinese friends. Happy Lunar New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

Sketchabilities Sketch #62

Using Sketchabilities Sketch  #62,

This was taken during Ah Ger's school graduation ceremony. All the kids, even in the nursery 1 class (as young as 3 years old) took part in the performance. When it was Ah Ger's turn, even though it was less than 5 mins, couldn't help it.... my heart soared with pride. She practically remembered every single steps and did not need any prompting from her teachers.

Using Maya Road Kraft envelope, I create a small pocket behind the main photo and slipped in some memorabilia from the event...

Here's a pic of how I hid it from plain sight...

And here's the pic of the memorabilia I kept. 1 of it had her name and title of her performance ( is it call a gig?) and the other, was the theme song of the whole event.

I have yet to show her this completed layout. I'm sure she will be so pleased and proud of it!

Thanks for dropping by!

Long Overdue Updates.....

It's been what... 2 months since I last blogged??
Ever since I'm back from our family vacation in Australia, my life have been in a whirlwind. Catching up with overdue household chores, cleaning up my neverending messy scrap space, cleaning up after my kids, work..... deadline on scrap projects, other tiny but important tasks in my life.. and that's my life cycle... Heh...
Plenty of photos to share.. just too little time to upload them.... plus... Blogger is giving me some problems.... too tedious to update nowadays.

Here's some pics from my trip.....

View from our apartment

We stayed at the Towers of Chevron Renaissance, Gold Coast. We decided to stay at Gold Coast as it might be too tiring for the kids to travel here and there... and staying at an apartment is much much better than the hotel. We can do our laundry and even cook!
Gorgeous right!!
Ah Ger's favorite cartoon.... unfortunately, didn't manage to take pic with them.
Cousins!!! So difficult to get them to take a pic together.
Ah Ger getting more and more brave. She loves to feed the animals.
Don't be deceive by their smile... they were actually complaining about the smell before this pic was taken... Heh....
Ok... that's all for now.... will be updating soon again!!

Know This

Using Inspired Blueprints Sketch #76,

Took this photo while we were cycling at East Coast Park. There was a sandcastle competition (I guess cuz' I was minding the bicycles). Honestly, the sand on Bintan beach was so much finer and 'softer' than those on Singapore beaches.

Journaling:

Sometimes you need to step outside,
get some air, and remind yourself of who
you are and where you want to be.

I don't really like the patterned paper that was behind the white cardstock, therefore, I decided to use it as mat for some added details and machine-stitches around the edges. I used Maya Road butterfly chipboards as mask and misted the white cardstock with Tattered Angel Mist. Using some embroidery thread, I stitch along the outline of the butterflies.

Some washi tape here and there.... just experimenting with it....

Thanks for looking!!

Pencil Lines Sketch #246

Using Pencil Lines Sketch #246,

Here's my take,

I splattered some Maya Mist onto the background (don't really like clean background nowadays). Took a while for me to think of the title because I had too many missing alphas from my old collection of AC Thickers. In the end, I cut off the "f" to replace "r" and "m" to replace "u" in the yellow ones, use 5 to replace "s" in black one and cut off "k" to make a "h" too. Felt so satisfied to use them up!

Journaling:

Meimei don't like to brush her teeth.
Whenever it's time to brush her teeth,
we have to wrap her with the towel
(with her arms in it),
and force her to open her mouth.

Isn't the tiny wooden spools for Maya Rd cute?! Love using them so much! And I used plenty of tiny buttons to fill up the frame chipboard.

Love the Washi Tape from Hambly!

Thanks for looking!!

Supplies:

Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket
Alphas: AC Thickers
Embellishments: K & Company flower brad, 7 gypsies sticker, Maya Rd kraft journal tag, mini wooden spools, trinket pin, Hambly washi tape
Others: Maya Mist, buttons, Bakers Twine, brads, Sizzix, Copic Marker, carnival tickets, embroidery thread

Finally......

the STRESSOR that drive almost everyone in my workplace crazy is over! Was really really busy with the preparation for the big audit that I barely have enough mojo to scrap anything else beside the custom order for a wedding guestbook for a friend of mine.

I took lots of photos of my 2 girls thou'.... plenty of projects that I wanna do. Hopefully, I can spend a little big more time scrapping!

In the meantime, wanna share a layout I did about a week ago or so..... Just don't have enough time and energy to post it.

Took this photo last Christmas at Paragon. The girls were playing and posing with the wigs on. These are the few pics that are salvageable (phone camera, poor lighting and 'couldn't keep still' girls).

Ok... gonna have a very good night rest now.... laterz.....

Thanks for dropping by!!

Lucky (Pencil Lines Sketch #243)

I want my girls to know that they will never be alone in their lives. Despite all the bickering and cat fights (in the future??), they will always have each other to hold on to....

Ballet Class

Name tags for the girls' ballet bags...

Sweet pink to match them....
Honestly, 45mins for each ballet session... is really not enough. They should really extend the timing a little... sigh...

So much easier to identify which one is whose bag.... Hehe...

Thanks for looking!!

Once Upon A Sketch.. June 1st Challenge

Here's 1st June sketch...

And here's my take...

She look so adorable and feminine with her fake long hair and the little handbag ( I wonder why my Mum loves to cut her hair till so short).

Journaling wrote:

U love to repeat what Mummy says

U love to eat and willing to try new food.

U still pefer to be carried around when we go "kai kai" (shopping).

U can fall asleep on your own easily.

U don't like being ignored (the usual punishment we give you when you get too naughty)."

We tried to talk sense into you... but you refused to listen..

We threaten you with a cane... you simply turn hysterical..

We scolded you..... again you simply REFUSED .... to listen...

When Mummy started walking away.... that's when I will get your attention.

I used mainly patterned paper from Webster's Pages. Ribbons are from an etsy shop and the tiny rosebuds are from my own collection.

I added some ribbon trimming under my photo for some added texture. "You make me Smile" stamp is from Technique Tuesday .... been wanting these stamps for ages... finally ordered tem online since it's so difficult to get them in Singapore.

I painted the background for my journaling spot with Ranger Distress Crackled Paint just for some texture too. Flowers and pearl swirl are from Prima Marketing.

Thanks for looking!!

P.S. There's some problem with blogger I can't seem to use the link, change font size or even leave some blog loves on other bloggers' comment page. I hope they rectify this problem soon....

Inspired Blueprint Sketch #74

Photo was taken during our 1st trip to Universal Studio Singapore. The girls were so excited when they saw him. Luckily.. he didn't hear them calling him... "Kuku Panda! Kuku Panda!"

Using Inspired Blueprint Sketch #74 and Studio Calico kit (added my own stash too)...

The chipboard alphas matched the panda right...

Journaling :

When you guys saw the advertisement for Kungfu Panda 2
You both started shouting "Kuku Panda!Kuku Panda!"
And you wanted to watch the show so much
Gonna bring you guys to the theatre for this..

(After I took the photo of the LO, then I realised that the journaling is not in the correct order)

Not gonna talk much.... too tired after work... (or rather... my brain not functioning now)

Thanks for stopping by!
