Lucky (Pencil Lines Sketch #243)

I want my girls to know that they will never be alone in their lives. Despite all the bickering and cat fights (in the future??), they will always have each other to hold on to....

Journaling:

that you are loved for who you are
and sometimes,
in spite of who you are

Without any assistance from her Daddy or me... she managed to put together a Lego robot all by herself. She was so proud of herself and couldn't resist showing off to me and was so eager to pose for a pic with it... Heh...

Misted the background with Maya Mist and stamped with a painted bubble wrapper for added texture.

Thanks for stopping by again!

Inspired Blueprint Sketch #74

Photo was taken during our 1st trip to Universal Studio Singapore. The girls were so excited when they saw him. Luckily.. he didn't hear them calling him... "Kuku Panda! Kuku Panda!"

Using Inspired Blueprint Sketch #74 and Studio Calico kit (added my own stash too)...

The chipboard alphas matched the panda right...

Journaling :

When you guys saw the advertisement for Kungfu Panda 2
You both started shouting "Kuku Panda!Kuku Panda!"
And you wanted to watch the show so much
Gonna bring you guys to the theatre for this..

(After I took the photo of the LO, then I realised that the journaling is not in the correct order)

Not gonna talk much.... too tired after work... (or rather... my brain not functioning now)

Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #73

Wanted to share a couple of finished projects done quite some time back.

In this layout, Meimei with her rubber face.... she was trying to imitate Mummy's scary stare. She succeeded in making a scary cute face...

I used Inspired Blueprints Sketch #73 and mainly Studio Calico kit for the layout.

The cute little bicycle with balloons stamp is from Unity Stamp Company.

A sweet little mother and daughter card....

Another close-up pic of it....

And.. an altered bottle which I bought from Ikea. Trying to reinforce my resolution to keep my expenditure on scrapbook stuff within budget.. a fun small project to use all the scraps and old stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

Long awaited break.....

Let me see... when was my last official annual leave slot... july? Which I took to send off my domestic helper, took care of Meimei (Ah Ger went to Korea with my sis) and 'training' my new helper. But things never go as planned. Helper not interested in learning how to take care of my kids. Her interest is making phone calls and going out. Thereafter.... I had to take ad-hoc leave to settle helper stuff, kid stuff, etc. So, there goes all my leave.

Was juggling between work, housework, kids, scrapbooking (to help me maintain my sanity) and getting enough rest so that I won't fall sick.

This LO was done quite sometime back but I was too tired/ occupy to actually post it. Sometimes, ideas (to blog) come to my mind but.... the timing is always wrong.

Anyway.... photos (with my iphone... that's why is quite blur) are taken before their bedtime. They were busy posing for me. One of the rare occasions that they will agree to things TOGETHER in HARMONY.

The frame was from my stash. It was actually white but I misted it with Maya Mist to make it stand out. The heart-shaped 'border' was actually ribbon from my own stash too. Added some cut out motifs here and there...

I used Sizzix die and some leftover felt for the leaves.

Direct stamping onto the LO again.... coloured the flower motif with copic marker and used dimensional glue to give it a shine.

Another layout

Another layout of the same photo for my sis-in-law.

Again, using The Scrappiest sketch #105.
I changed the colour of the patterned paper to suit a 'guy' layout. I handcut the circle again using my trusty Corelle plate as a guide. ;P

Using the twine to look like a 'scribble' on the LO.

Stamping... stamping away... Heh..

1st day of school

Meimei had started school this year. She will be in the same class as J, my nephew. He is standing in the middle of the smaller photo.

She was really excited to go to school on the very first day. She woke up on time without any difficulty was so willing to shower and change into her uniform.

I know I know... I have not scrap a LO on Ah Ger's first day in school. Soon soon ok....

Using The Scrappiest #105 sketch:

Misted the background (as usual).... love how they change the look of plain cardstock....

I can't really remember but I think this is the first time I tried stamping on the LO itself. Normally, I would stamp on a plain cardstock first and cut it out.... just in case the stamped image is unclear. I coloured the heart-shaped with copic marker and rub some stickles on it.

I also tried to stamp and embossed an image directly onto the cardstock. Love the texture effect it gave. The alarm clock image is so cute! It's from Unity Stamp.

Rain..rain... go away..

It's been raining most of the time for the past few days.... No sunshine = no dry clothes... and this has always been freaking me out~. I hate to see dirty laundry piling up.. waiting to be wash.. I hate seeing washed laundry being hang to dry for a few days... and still being damp. Don't really know why.... but it's affecing my mood... and I will get very irritable... Comtemplating whether is it worth to buy a dryer... we shall see....
Let's get on to a happier topic.... new layout to share!

Using The Scrappiest Sketch #102,

I like the 'stand-out' effect of a layout when using white cardstock as background. Used to be quite plain-looking (before playing with Maya Mist, Glimmer Mist and stamps) but I like it better now.... since I can make use of all the mist that I had bought...

Using stamp from Unity, I repeatedly stamp the image over the misted cardstock.

Painstakingly, handstitched the little Xs over the border using some old embroidery thread.... just to add some texture. Add a little of this and that (mostly from the old stash) just to add some tiny details.
Thanks for dropping by!

Studio Calico kit
Stamp: Unity
Alphas: AC Thickers
RubOns: Maya Rd, AC
Embellishments: Hambly tranparency,Maya Rd sheer, Kaisercraft rhinestones, 7gypsies stickers, Fancy Pants kraft diecuts

She's all hat

Completed this layout quite sometime back... about 2 weeks ago.. But I always ended up doing something else (procrastinate too much I guess) and by the time I remembered to load it up.... I'm too tired to do it.... hehe..

I used an old photo of Ah Ger that was taken by my sis-in-law. I seriously had no idea when and why did she end up with a plastic bag over her head and pretend that it's a hat! It's kinda of cute right!

I misted the kraft cardstock to mae it less boring... Cut of the circle shaped using... my Corelle plate and free-hand... (Hehe.... no circle cutter yet). Majority of the items are from Studio Calico November 2009 kit (OMG..... ) and the rest are from my old stash.

Getting ready for the next CHA yet?? I am! Love the collection from Crate Paper... Cosmo Cricket... Webster's Page.... gonna burn a big hole soon....

Thank you for looking!!

(Btw, layout is inspired by The Scrappiest Sketch #96)

Materials:

Studio Calico kit

Embellishments: Maya Rd chipboard, Baker's Twine, Jenni Bowlin crepe paper, Creative Imagination ticket, Hambly transparency, OA rubOns, button.

Others: Tim Holtz mask, Maya Mist

Perfect Housewife

My little princesses are always helpful. Whenever Mummy or Daddy is doing housework... they will volunteer to help us out ( To note: they seldom or rarely will clean up their room or toys). They will always end up snatching the broom from one another.

I managed to capture the younger one in action.... sweeping the floor (and being proud of it).

Using Inspired Blueprints Sketch #63:

Journaling:

Mummy was sweeping the floor when Meimei came and offer to help out. Not too sure whether Meimei is a great helper or a mess maker. But she is, without a doubt, a 'dirty' ( look at the messy hair and dirty clothes) little cutie!!

Hubby commented that the LO is a little too dark..... hmmm... I guess so... but well... anywhere.. I still like them... hehe..

Thanks for looking!!

Materials:

Alphas: AC Thickers
Embellishments: Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts, Maya Rd chipboard, Jenni Bowlin crepe paper and stickers, twine, ribbon, buttons, trinket pins.

Others: Sizzix die, Tanger stickles, Maya Mist

First Layout for 2011

A little late but Happy New Year!!

Had been wanting to update the blog a few days ago... but I guess... I procrastinate too long...

It's been a long time since I last scrapped any layout. For the past few days I had been organising all my photos and I realised that there are so many that I had wanted to scrap but was always held up by work and custom orders.

One of my resolutions for this year will be to scrap more photos of my family and I. I should set a target of how many layouts, projects, cards to complete this year... but I guess, I dun wanna stress myself too much. Afterall, this is a hobby to preserve our memories.....

So... I brought you my first layout of the year!!

Its an old photo of Ah Ger playing at Vivocity "pool" (before I knew that it was not allowed).

Layout is based on a sketch by Got Sketch?.

Journaling:

We brought you to Vivocity "minipool" (before we know that it's actually not advisable to play with the water for hygiene purpose) to let you get used to being in the water. You were "OKAY" with it until you tripped and fell face first into the water. Need to coax you for quite sometime before you tried again. All in all... we did see an improvement in the 'love-hate' relationship between the water and you...

In this layout alone, I had used punches.... simply loving it!!

Thank you for looking!!

Studio Calico kit
Stamp: Catslife Press
Others: Buttons, Bakers Twine, 7 gypsies stickers, Little Yellow Bicycle: Transparency
