Smurf Craze

Came across a tutorial at Maya Road DT blog of the altered chipboard house by one of the DT and I got inspired by her!

Since I have foam eggs, which I bought last Easter to do some art and craft with the girls, still lying around  (bought too many of them... greedy I suppose :p).. I cut them 2/3 across to resemble the dome-shaped roof and carefully followed the instructions given. I modified it here and there as I don't really have all the items that had been used.

For the base.... I altered cookie/biscuit tin covers with patterned papers and ribbons.... The plastic flowers are donated by my girls Hello Kitty collection (LOL!!!).

The smurf figurines are from Kinder Beuno eggs which my sister, sister-in-law and myself kept on buying till we have the full set......

When I completed the 1st house.... I showed them to the girls.... and guess what.. Ah Ger asked for one with a purple rooftop??! Ok..... so... I made a 2nd one... with  a bigger yard... took me quite a while though...

View from another angle..

Took me a long time to complete them as I have other commitments that take priority seats.... but I love how it turns out!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Crafty Time.....

Did this with the kids on Sunday. Handmade Christmas tree ornaments. Got this idea on Pinterest
The girls are enjoying craft as much as the mummy do.... Trying to search for other ideas for next coming weekend.

A customised order for a friend of mine.

Adding this to the Handmade Gifts for sale Page. Great as a Christmas gift (which can be customised to the theme), birthday gift for a friend or simply an everyday gift. Had listed a bigger version of this frame. The sample can be found in this post.

Made her a farewell gift..... using one of the old photo..... since I don't have any other of her.

Teacher's Day Gift

Just wanted to share some scrappy stuff that I did for Teacher's Day since I have yet to take pic of the recent ones.

Customised notebooks for a friend of mine. Managed to complete them even thou' it was a last minute order.

As for mine..... I used some old felt flowers that I had made previously to 'pretty' up packaging for the girls' teachers. They were so proud to bring them to school....

Thanks for dropping by~~

Long Overdue Updates.....

It's been what... 2 months since I last blogged??
Ever since I'm back from our family vacation in Australia, my life have been in a whirlwind. Catching up with overdue household chores, cleaning up my neverending messy scrap space, cleaning up after my kids, work..... deadline on scrap projects, other tiny but important tasks in my life.. and that's my life cycle... Heh...
Plenty of photos to share.. just too little time to upload them.... plus... Blogger is giving me some problems.... too tedious to update nowadays.

Here's some pics from my trip.....

View from our apartment

We stayed at the Towers of Chevron Renaissance, Gold Coast. We decided to stay at Gold Coast as it might be too tiring for the kids to travel here and there... and staying at an apartment is much much better than the hotel. We can do our laundry and even cook!
Gorgeous right!!
Ah Ger's favorite cartoon.... unfortunately, didn't manage to take pic with them.
Cousins!!! So difficult to get them to take a pic together.
Ah Ger getting more and more brave. She loves to feed the animals.
Don't be deceive by their smile... they were actually complaining about the smell before this pic was taken... Heh....
Ok... that's all for now.... will be updating soon again!!

MWL National Day Scrapbook Contest 2011

This is for MWL National Day Challenge.

You can go here, to find more about the contest.

Photo was taken at DH's cousin's wedding at Malaysia. Not the best picture... but at least it's complete..with me in it!

The frame behind the photo is a Sizzix die cut which I painted with Making Memories white acrylic paint, applied some glue and covered them with German glass glitter. Painstakingly, glue down each rhinestone because my i-rock melted the battery ... (not too sure what went wrong thou')

Bunched up flowers from Prima, Maya Road and some from own supply.

Lastly, my journaling note hidden inside the Maya Road Envelope which I applied some Rub-Ons and misted with some white Studio Calico.

Journaling:

where I can be myself.

Pencil Lines Sketch #249

Using Pencil Lines Sketch #249,

I just have to scrap this photo of Meimei and DH. The bond between them grew closer and closer ever since we let the domestic helper go. Tiring.. but worth it.

I misted the background using Tattered Angels and some wooden shaped embellishment (can't remember the manufacturer). Using some rub-ons from my stash, I 'altered' the chipboard alphas so that it won't look too plain. My journaling is in the Maya Road envelope .

Close-up of clustered embellishments....

Another close-up....

Family Matters Most

Been hoarding this 7gypsies tray like... forever? I had another 6 compartments one to alter too....

Love how this turned out...and as what the title said... family matters most to me...

Was gonna pile lots of embellishments on it.. but I think.. it's quite enough right... Don't really like cluttered look either.

LOve the vibrant colors of the flowers!

Trying to use up my many collections of Maya Road chipboards!

See that small bunch of vintage millinery flowers? Isn't it sweet!!

Know This

Using Inspired Blueprints Sketch #76,

Took this photo while we were cycling at East Coast Park. There was a sandcastle competition (I guess cuz' I was minding the bicycles). Honestly, the sand on Bintan beach was so much finer and 'softer' than those on Singapore beaches.

Journaling:

Sometimes you need to step outside,
get some air, and remind yourself of who
you are and where you want to be.

I don't really like the patterned paper that was behind the white cardstock, therefore, I decided to use it as mat for some added details and machine-stitches around the edges. I used Maya Road butterfly chipboards as mask and misted the white cardstock with Tattered Angel Mist. Using some embroidery thread, I stitch along the outline of the butterflies.

Some washi tape here and there.... just experimenting with it....

Customized Wedding Guestbook

A wedding guestbook for one of my friend's brother's wedding (photo taken by my hubby). Honestly, it's much more vibrant and nice than the picture shown. (Hubby to lazy to take pic of it under the natural sun... bleh!)

All in all... it's contain 30 pages of mainly Webster's Pages patterned papers... Took me quite sometime to complete the whole album (Drained my mojo out for this...). Zutter-bind them and.. loving the end result!!

Thanks for dropping by!!

Pencil Lines Sketch #246

Using Pencil Lines Sketch #246,

Here's my take,

I splattered some Maya Mist onto the background (don't really like clean background nowadays). Took a while for me to think of the title because I had too many missing alphas from my old collection of AC Thickers. In the end, I cut off the "f" to replace "r" and "m" to replace "u" in the yellow ones, use 5 to replace "s" in black one and cut off "k" to make a "h" too. Felt so satisfied to use them up!

Journaling:

Meimei don't like to brush her teeth.
Whenever it's time to brush her teeth,
we have to wrap her with the towel
(with her arms in it),
and force her to open her mouth.

Isn't the tiny wooden spools for Maya Rd cute?! Love using them so much! And I used plenty of tiny buttons to fill up the frame chipboard.

Love the Washi Tape from Hambly!

Thanks for looking!!

Supplies:

Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket
Alphas: AC Thickers
Embellishments: K & Company flower brad, 7 gypsies sticker, Maya Rd kraft journal tag, mini wooden spools, trinket pin, Hambly washi tape
Others: Maya Mist, buttons, Bakers Twine, brads, Sizzix, Copic Marker, carnival tickets, embroidery thread

Trying to use up my scrap papers...

Finally......

the STRESSOR that drive almost everyone in my workplace crazy is over! Was really really busy with the preparation for the big audit that I barely have enough mojo to scrap anything else beside the custom order for a wedding guestbook for a friend of mine.

I took lots of photos of my 2 girls thou'.... plenty of projects that I wanna do. Hopefully, I can spend a little big more time scrapping!

In the meantime, wanna share a layout I did about a week ago or so..... Just don't have enough time and energy to post it.

Took this photo last Christmas at Paragon. The girls were playing and posing with the wigs on. These are the few pics that are salvageable (phone camera, poor lighting and 'couldn't keep still' girls).

Ok... gonna have a very good night rest now.... laterz.....

Lucky (Pencil Lines Sketch #243)

I want my girls to know that they will never be alone in their lives. Despite all the bickering and cat fights (in the future??), they will always have each other to hold on to....

Journaling:

The greatest happiness in life is knowing
that you are loved for who you are
and sometimes,
in spite of who you are

Materials:

Mainly Studio Calico kit (among other stuff)

Ballet Class

Name tags for the girls' ballet bags...

Sweet pink to match them....
Honestly, 45mins for each ballet session... is really not enough. They should really extend the timing a little... sigh...

So much easier to identify which one is whose bag.... Hehe...

Documenting life's little details..

During my last short trip to Hongkong, I managed to finish up a book... Life Artist by Ali Edwards. It's was so inspiring.. It kept me thinking about my daily life... how I tend to rush through things... forgetting to enjoy the process of getting things done.. especially with my kids. Honestly speaking, it's really not an easy task juggling between a full time demanding job, 2 very active kids, household chores and scrapbooking (which I really need to keep my sanity). I DO need to slow down and enjoy the everyday things... We only live once.. and we SHOULD make the best out of it...

I made a mini album to document those tiny everyday life's details that may seem insignificant to others but it define who we ( my family and I). I want my kids to be able to go through these albums and know how important they are in my life......

I left the inside pages blank .... and it was ring bind so that I can add or reshuffle the pages around...

I should go now... thanks for stopping by.....
