My Scrap Space.... at last!

Hello! Been wanting to share my scrap space for a long long time but I never got a chance to thoroughly clean the space up till now. I have always enjoyed looking at other scrapper's work space... and envies those with gorgeous.. spacious room, however, I realised that... the bigger the space.... the more I will hoard.....

Okay... enough talking.... and here it is!!!  *Pls ignore the TV show...hehehe*

My main workspace where I do most of the scrapping. Sometimes, when I need to spread all my stash while I scrapped, the whole floor will be covered with all the embellishments, etc. Still find that the table is a little too small.... but I'm contented with it..... for now... LOL. Saw my Silhouette Cameo there...... =)

Here's another view of the room. My hubby and I shared the study room.... 3/4 of the space is taken up by me........ =P.

Ikea Expedit.... my best buy ever.....

See... my supplies are so overwhelming until I have to use the top part of the shelves. The plastic compartments in the upper leftmost of the photo is my embroidery threads. I used to cross stitch before I took up scrapbooking (imagine the amount of money I can save if I still continue to cross stitch instead....). The purple and blue suitcases are "borrowed" from my daughters to put fabrics that I ordered online...

Another view of the shelves...
The cardstocks and patterned papers are kept in the plastic containers and organised by manufacturers.

Here's my Studio Calico kits that are sorted and labelled monthly. The add-on kits are kept separately until I am ready to use it.... then I will combine them with the main kit.

The mists, embossing powder, stickles, inks and paints are kept in separate plastic containers. Each of the boxes are filled with stamps, ribbons, stickers, rub-ons, embellishments, chipboards, etc. And.... of course... organised accordingly.

Here's a peek into my embellishment boxes (it's overflowing soon... arrgghh..... need to use them fast!!).

My Big Shot and dies..... they really taking up a lot of space.
This metal drawers are filled with punches, flowers and photo paper and printer inks. The metal basket which was sprayed with white paint is where I keep my "on-going" mini albums.

Another shelves..... This was in built which I requested for when we were moving in.
More flowers, buttons, ribbons, glitters and my Zutter machine.

My magnetic board which I altered with October Afternoon patterned paper. I displayed my latest layouts here...... noticed my cute little house which I hung .... hehehe.... there is a mini album inside. Did this in my LSS class.

This was one of the first few items that I bought.. I kept my scissors, pens, washi tapes, adhesives here.... within my reach.

Here's another....

Last but not least.... my Project Life stuff which I kept within my reach for easy access...

So there you are.... my sanctuary, the one place that I go to.... everyday without fail.
Hope you enjoy the "tour".

Thanks for dropping by!!!

Cleaning Up........

A peek to my "cleaning in progress study room".....

SHOULD be thankful that my study room is quite small right???!! The tidying up and sorting is such a chore..... but the advantage of it is finding old stash.... and needless to say, I love looking and touching all the stash that I have. Honestly, it's therapeutic to just bring down all the stuff... wipe the dust away... looking at all the goodies... and arranging them nicely again (even if the photos appear chaos.... Hehe).

I'm trying to NOT overbuy and do/create more LOs and mini albums. Trying to use old stash 1st. Trying to contain my storage place to just here ( 2/3 of the study room which i shared with hubby..... HEHEHE...) and  nowhere else. So far, I've been a good girl except when there is a major sale at my LSS.

Yes, I'm using Expedit shelves from Ikea. Call me organised freak.. but I love to organise things in a systematic way in which it's easier for me to find things... and having those shelves really help me to place things accordingly e.g. ribbons, stickers, rubOns, etc.
Here's my 2 girls helping me to clean up the place (actually slowed me down a little but it's nice to get them involve in cleaning so that they can learn).

Anyway, just sharing on my scrap space. Hopefully, I can post a full tour of it... but my table is always untidy.....90% of the time is because I'm always in the middle of a project. Either my project life, LO or just anything......

Thanks for dropping by anyway!!!

Why do I scrapbooking?

A picture says a thousand word.

I'm a full time working mum with 2 young kids. I do not have a domestic helper to help me with my daily household chores but yet I have time to scrapbook?? Well.... because I don't go window shopping, I don't watch television show, my rest and relax time = time spend on scrapbooking.

I love seeing my kids flipping through pages and pages of my layouts... and asking about the photos. I love to include my journaling and favorite quotes onto each layout.

So.... for those who has been asking me why do I scrap? Have time? Oh yes... I do... I MAKE time for it.

Thanks for dropping by!!

October Afternoon Santa Sack

Every month I would wait patiently (sometimes, impatiently) for the postman to come and bring me my monthly dose of brown box.

Unexpectedly, my OA Santa Sack #5 is here before my monthly kit... which was ordered much much earlier....

Anyway, this is what I had received.....

This is nothing... compare to the actual products.... colour was so much more vibrant! I love love OA... even if it contain some old collections.

In Singapore, it sell out too fast to even reserve them...

I saw in YouTube, previous Santa Sack contained lots of Rub-ons but I guess for #5, they packed in the label and word stickers... which I love so much!!

These are the diecuts.... and stickers.

Received 25 pieces of patterned paper....

Ok.... Thanks for looking will be posting my Project Life Week 1 soon.... if I manage to find time to take a pic of them.....

Just need to...... (Random Thoughts)

ventilate...

I was so ashamed of myself today. In a fit of anger (with someone else), I took it out on my poor kids.... before jumping into conclusion.... I did not raise my hand on them... just my voice... sigh..but still.... I don't feel good about it.

Sometimes, my emotions got the better of me. At the back of my mind, I keep telling myself, "it's not their fault... it's not their fault".... but somehow.... I just can't stop myself.

Why... why.. why... because I'm tired? Because I need to speak up? Because I need you to listen? Because I need you to listen harder? When I don't say... you said I never tell u to. When I tell you, you are not happy. So, where did I go wrong?

Something that I learned from a workshop I attended: 7 Habits of Highly Effective People which I will summarized to my own understanding...

Do not dwell on things or circumstances that are beyond your control or can't be changed. Concentrate on my choices. I am free to choose and am responsible for my choices.

1 of my favorite quote:

"I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions and not upon our circumstances."
- Martha Washington

With that, I will end my venting with pics of my princesses....

My CHA Favorites (aka "MUST BUY")

Had been drooling over the new collections since CHA winter show. For my non-scrapbooking friends... CHA = Craft & Hobby Association. It is an annual convention for craft/hobby retailers. In my own words.... the show which showcase the most gorgeous and to die for scrapbook supplies!! And the place to meet all the wonderful creators behind these gorgeous stuff and be inspired!

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Short update:

Why was I late in wishing all my friends, bloggers, family members, acquaintance and everyone else a Happy Chinese New Year? Both my princesses fell sick on the eve of the new year.

Ah Ger was having high fever persistently despite giving her syrup Paracetamol every 4hrs to 5hrs. Her fever came down only slightly... and up it goes again. She only remain afebrile today. She's not eating much.... but at least she does eat something (acceptable amount, I think)

Luckily, Meimei only had fever for 2 days on and her appetite remains the same throughout (btw, she never stop eating and talking except during bedtime).

Now... back to screaming Meimei (Hubby is showering them now and they did not have their afternoon nap).

Will update my latest LO soon!! See ya...

Sneak Peek....

The day of the charity bazaar is drawing close.. and here's the sneaks of what I had done so far...

I had enjoyed myself greatly. A lot of hardwork but I got help from the junior nurses in my ward. They had been so helpful. Without them, I doubt I can do so much (especially slicing the A4 size paper.. heh). Sad thing was... I 'm not able to be there during the charity bazaar... I had to be somewhere else for my orientation as a newly promoted nurse clinician.... bummer.
Anyway.... have a great week! Hoping to go back to scrapping about my gals soon!!

Therapy for depression is.....

shopping??!! It's been hectic for the past 2 weeks. Juggling between work, taking care of 2 sick kids and myself, rushing off the notebooks for the charity bazaar (in 2 weeks time), waiting for the arrival of my new domestic helper and hearing the news of my promotion cum transfer!!

Happy to be promoted?? Of course I do... but with the promotion, I maybe (not confirm yet) transfer to another ward to be a change agent (OMG)..... that cause me to be partially depressed....

It has not been easy for me for the past 2 weeks and hearing this news make things worse. I really hope things will get much better when the kids get well, my new domestic helper comes and the stuff for the charity bazaar is complete....

Meanwhile... let me share with you what I had bought for the past ONE WEEK. Take note.... picture shows only half of what I had indulged in!!!

I just became Maya Road addict... I think.... just can't get enough of them!

Anyway... off to do more notebooks..... cya soon!

Thanks for dropping by!

Bad Blogger

Sorry for the lack of post... Been rushing to make notebooks for the charity bazaar at the hospital that I worked at.

My target is to make 70 notebooks.... but I think at the rate that I am doing... maybe half than that? With Ah Ger coming back from Korea... progress will be slower.

Here is a sample of what I had done. Gonna use my precious stash of patterned papers to make the notebooks. After giving it a long thought... I have decided to donate all the money that I might earned from selling my handmade stuff..... All for a good cause?

Can't post long now... need to make full use of all the free time I have while Meimei is sleeping......

Mess Up...

Had not been blogging much this month. Things have been chaotic at work for the past 2 weeks.

So much frustrations, anger and it was so messed up! Arrgghh... and I can't do much about it... sigh....

Some things are just beyond my control I guess.....

And... the state of my scrapbook room reflects my thoughts and feelings.... messed up! I need a break!!

Sorry... just need to ventilate...... anyway.... on a lighter note...

Hehe... this is what happened when I decided to stop cleaning up after each project. And this is the reason why I can only do 1 project at a time. I would take up almost every single space available even on the floor. 3/4 of the study room is filled with my scrapbook stuff!!

See my Big Shot there on the floor?? I have some works in progress.... will update real soon!

My Little Bumble Bee

Been slow in updating my blog... I'm a really bad blogger. It's been very busy ever since the moving here and there...... to and fro from my parents' house. Well, since it's best for the kids (for now), I guess, we will stick to the current plan.

No doubt that there are more people around to help/supervise my domestic helper and my kids are well fed, the only part that I do not like is my girls will usually end up watching cartoons most part of the days and Ah Ger will keep sucking on her 'TuTu' which I am trying to wean her off! Sigh......

Let's just leave that aside.

Here is my lastest LO.
My cute little MeiMei in her bumble bee swimsuit! Courtesy of my brother. She didn't even try to pull out the cap! It's her first time to Sentosa (her birthday treat). She enjoyed them so much. But this Mummy forgot to bring extra clothes for herself.... so, can't let her play for too long as Mummy was getting wetter and wetter.

LO was done within 2 hours. My shortest time ever. Really wanna keep it simple so that the main focus will be the photos itself.

Materials:
Patterned Paper: Sassafraslass,
Alphas: AC Thickers, Adornit stickers
Embellishments: Die cut; Fancy Pants, Sticker; 7 gypsies, Maya Rd sheer, RubOns; Heidi Swapp, Prima Marketing, Rhinestones; Kaisercraft, Pearl flowers; Jenni Bowlin, Buttons; Tessa Ann
Thanks for looking!

Layouts from class...

Attended a class in my LSS, these are the 3 layouts that we had done.

Lately, I have no mojo to scrap at all... Surfing here and there looking for an inspiration.... or maybe.... my scrap table is too messy! I really do need to clear things up before starting a new project.

Christmas is coming.... it's gift making time. I've better start preparing soon...

Have a great weekend okay! Thanks for looking!
