We Adore U

Using sketch from Pencil Lines......

I did a LO for my brother's 4month old son. He intended to do an album for his son. But realising he has no time for it, he 'donated' all his scrapbook supplies to me and in return, I do it on his behalf. =P
Hopefully, he likes them.

I embossed the chipboard flourish with Ranger Distress embossing powder. I love seeing the powder literally melts and become a 'smooth' surface. Applied stickles to the edges of the clouds.

Using white pen, I inked the edges of the chipboard alphas because it looks so plain. Oh.... my Unity stamps just arrived in my mail yesterday.... they are so lovely.

Cupcakes Container

Bought this container from my local grocery store to store those towel cupcakes that I have made for the patients. It can get very dusty... and messy... at my workplace so hopefully, this container can keep them 'safe'... Hehe... And doesn't it just brighten the day when you see the sweet cupcake on the container.....

I actually sprayed glimmer mist onto the chipboard alphabets but I don't think the photo showing it well.

S.A last day photos

To my colleagues, I have uploaded the photos we took on Saturday. So, you can download here if you want. Photos quality not that good.... due to amateur photographers. =P

Happy looking!!

Farewell gift

This is my first chipboard album ever made! I didn't know that it is so much easier to make and complete compared to a 12" x 12" LO. I actually learned how to make one from a class held by my LSS.

It is a gift for one of my fellow colleagues who had resigned to further her study in Psychology. She had only been with us for less than a year but I'm gonna miss her. I hope she likes the presents and remember us.... always..... All the best for her study!!

Photograph on the left was actually taken on 21st Feb '09! I didn't even realise that I stick a '7' instead of '9' until my friend told me....HEH!! A sign of aging...
I tried embossing for the first time (other than in a class) and simply loving it!! I am gonna buy more embossing powder!

U want some biscuits?

Hehe.... Just wanna show some latest pics of my 2 DDs (as requested by some of my friends).

What are you lookin at? Is there anything on my face or you just want my biscuit?

Meimei eats biscuit, Ah Ger also want one.... Sigh, gotta buy everything in 2 now......

Journal books

Made these for my friends and myself. One of my friend is feeling kind of down lately ( I can sense it even though she never tell me so). There are suppose to be Valentine's Day gifts but I was on leave and moreover, I bought the wrong size Bind-it-All.... so everything was delayed.

I mainly used Graphic 45 patterned papers. Aren't they beautiful? They are so vintage looking. I used transparency as a 'protection' so that the books can last longer. Hopefully, my friends will like them. I am going to enjoy writing on my journal... heheh... Happy looking!!

Towel Cupcakes

Nursing cancer-stricken patients is never an easy task. You see them come and go everyday. At times, they may be hospitalized for weeks or even months undergoing chemotherapy. Per cycle of chemotherapy lasts from a day to a week or so. However, most patients have to stay for a longer period of time because they need daily observation of their total blood counts or due to complications from the chemotherapy or disease progression.

There are a number of patients who are admitted for further investigations and thereafter, diagnosed with leukemia. According to Kubler-Ross Five Stages of Grief, people allegedly go through this Five Stages of Grief when diagnosed with a terminal illness. The Five Stages of Grief is Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. I’ve seen patients going through these stages but most of them did not end at the fifth stage. Mostly, I’ve seen them going through the cycle over and over again especially when the tough gets tougher.

I really feel helpless when I see what my patients have to go through. I can’t go to them to tell them everything is going to be okay… because it is NOT okay. I can’t even tell them that I understand how they feel because I will never be able to understand them fully because I can never be in their shoes.

I want to find ways to cheer them up during their stay in the hospital. I thought of buying small cakes or even bake cupcakes for them on their birthday but due to their low immune system, most of the patients are STRONGLY discouraged to buy outside and my baking skills….. no comment =P.

Thus, I am making these cupcakes from towels as gifts for those patients ‘celebrating’ their birthdays during their hospitalization. At least, they can use the towels even though they can’t eat their ‘birthday cupcake’. I’ve learned to fold the towels from a website which I googled and for the cupcake base, I used my Bigshot… simply loving this tool!!

Zutter Bind-it-All

Look what I've got for my Valentine's Day pressie! Zutter Bind-it-All! Been eyeing it for quite some time now but after spending a bomb on Bigshot machine, need to really consider before buying any big tool.
As I had mentioned before, I'm a very practical person. I prefer when DH buys what I need or in this case, what I WANT (hehe...) instead of buying what he thinks I want. He usually bought me computer games, MP3, etc which is nice of him, but that's not really what I want. So, over the years, I learn to tell him what I want.... no hinting.... don't bother cos' he don't take hints... LOL. So, I actually went to my LSS to get what I want and thereafter, 'collect' money from him =P. Going to do a lot with this tool. Stay tuned to see what I'm up to ok... heh!!

Little Nyonya

I love this photo of Ah Ger. She looks so sweet in the kebaya. I was actually inspired to scrap it Asian style (following the Little Nyonya show on Channel 8 and the scrapbook which I bought - Scrapbook Asian Style!) with flowers, etc. But no skill yet…. This is the best I can come up with. Hopefully, the flowers will still have a tinge of Asian feel… Hehe…

I applied stickles to all the flowers, leaves and butterflies. Bought a new butterfly punch ( which Ah Ger loves to play with too) which is a little too small than what I wanted but it’s okay for now.

I sprayed Maya Mist metallic silver over the flourish and frame chipboard.Intending to buy more Maya Mist.... I simply love them!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!! A little too late but was busy the whole day yesterday. Brought DDs to the zoo for the FIRST time. Why now? Well, my mum very 'pantang' in bringing small kids/babies to see animals. She said that they might get scared off, have fever, fall ill and...... So, I was prohibited to bring them till now. Moreover, because I work shift hours thus, it's more difficult to find a suitable day to go as my DH is working office hours.

Anyway, what did you get for Valentine's Day this year?

I got this from.... not my DH!! I'm more of a practical person. Buy me what I want and need... heh... This is from my sis. She owes an online florist shop , thus the pressie. Ah ger hijacked the bear bear immediately when she saw it!

I love blue roses.... pink or red is too common for me.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy Valentine's Day!!

We love you because.....

This the first ever decent pic I took of my 2 DDs. It is so difficult to keep them still for long. Photo is a bit blur... well, I can get one is good enough... Heh...

I use my own handwriting to journal it. I don't really like my own handwriting but... for memory keepsake, I think it's ok to personalise it even though it doesn't really look good.

We love you because:
  1. U bring joy & laughter into our life
  2. Just because you are you
  3. You made our house a home
  4. You light up my day whenever you are around
  5. You made us watch Barney or BabyTV everyday
  6. Simply because I LOVE YOU!!!

Happy Birthday Ah Ger

Ah Ger turns 2 today. We celebrated her birthday with dinner among our closest family members and of course, a birthday cake.

I was actually trying to find a Barney cake for her but Emicake don't do Barney cake? So, we had to settle for a Kitty cake instead. We ordered a chocolate mousse cake for her since some of the guest don't eat durian.... heh...

Didn't manage to get a nice pic of her since I was busy running around making sure the food is ready, enough for everyone, have enough drinks to go around... this is the best pic I can get. The rest are videocam.
She sang the birthday song and blow out the candles but I doubt she knows how to make a wish yet. Hopefully, I can make a wish on her behalf...... I do not wish for riches, I do not wish for my girl to be a top A student.... all that I wish for is that my girl will stay healthy and happy for many years to come.

All Gone

LO is about Meimei's first haircut. Same as Ah Ger, we keep meimei's 'first' hair to make into scholar's brush. Free haircut service provided and it's door to door service if we order the brush from them. Will take a pic of the brush next time ok.
While Meimei was having her hair shaved off, Ah Ger was so afraid of the shaver sound and ran off while I was holding Meimei. She stood in one corner while watching Meimei's hair being cut. For quite some time, Ah Ger don't dare to sayang Meimei's head.... maybe she felt ticklish or... scare?

I kept a lock of her hair so that I can include them in my LO.
